In Delaware, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Ohio, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.
No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. The listed phone number is (740) 815-3230. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.
Customers rate it 5.0 out of 5 on Google across 17 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded plant nurseries in Delaware.
Delaware is in Ohio, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Delaware follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Totally good! I ordered wild blue indigo which are tall-ish and very delicate . They were packaged so perfectly that they arrived so protected and healthy. Ed helped me with my questions via email. I've planted them and they are thriving. Will be ordering them, or other plants, confidently. Thank you!

First off, their website lists all trees by what is native to your county, Latin name, and wetland status. This was incredibly helpful for determining what I should plant in some spots I wanted to restore at work. Not only do they sell native trees and shrubs, but they're also about to launch their herbaceous plant website! I was able to check out tons of native perennials in the greenhouse, ranging from classics like bergamot and purple coneflower, all the way to wild lupine! (Yes, we do have native lupines in Ohio!) They were able to give me an awesome deal with wholesale pricing because I was purchasing on behalf of the park I work for, and were able to easily honor my organization's tax-exempt status! Owner was friendly, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable. Purchasing native plants from somebody who understands the ecology and natural history of what he's selling is a breath of fresh air. Can't wait to go back!

I really like the passion the owner puts into his work and the trees are a very high quality. It seems that he does get a bit overrun in the springtime so if you go you may want to call ahead to see what is in stock. This place reminds me of several tree farms I've visited over the years so if it has recently rained you may want to wear old shoes. I generally do not give 5 stars but it is worth the adventure to go see the place and pick out a tree which is 50% cheaper than the local retail stores, and did I mention the owner is very passionate.

What a hidden gem! Superb selection of trees and shrubs and great pricing. Mr. Kapraly was very knowledgeable, friendly, and he must have thanked us 4 or 5 times for our purchase and it was only $100. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I will be back for more trees and will most likely buy some shrubs, too. I cannot recommend this business enough!

Wow! I can't say enough good things about Riverside Native Trees and Nursery. Ed was extremely helpful when choosing just the right trees and shrubs from a large selection. Even though I was purchasing < 25 trees/shrubs, Ed's customer service skills made me feel like I was just as important as a larger client. He is quick to respond and very personable. I highly recommend this nursery.
